SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

_

We expect to be awarding approximately $246,000 in academic scholarships to this and prior years’ recipients. Each of the twenty scholarships for 2022 will be at least $12,000 – providing $3,000 per year for four years. There are also three named scholarships – one for $14,000, one for $16,000, and one for $18,000. The $14,000 scholarship is in recognition of the years of volunteer service given by member Skip Hawley. The $16,000 scholarship is in recognition of the twenty years Dr. Ralph Ackerman served as the chairman of the scholarship committee. The $18,000 scholarship is in recognition of the years of support from the Gunterberg Charitable Trust.

Each year, we will send one-fourth of the total scholarship amount to the recipients’ college financial aid accounts.

Winners must be Cape Coral residents and will be contacted personally by the scholarship committee.

Please email completed forms to  scholarships@capecoralkiwanis.org.

In the 2012-13 school year, the Lubins Scholarship was added as a result of the generous endowment from the Lubins family. Please see the Lubins scholarship application for the qualification requirements.

Starting with the 2022-23 school year, we have added three new one-year scholarships which are funded by a generous endowment from the William and Beverly Lorenz Charitable Trust. One of these scholarships will be awarded to a recipient attending a technical college, one to a part-time college student, and one to a full-time college student. See the applications for specific requirements.

Applications are available now from this website and will be available from high school guidance counselor offices and Kiwanis of Cape Coral Thrift Stores.

All of the Kiwanis scholarship recipients are characterized by determination, altruism, and hope for the future. They are exemplary spokespersons for the Kiwanis mission to “change the world – one child and one community at a time.”
